ZK Identity Cairn

Zero-knowledge proofs for identity protection, not speculation. Prove who you are without showing who you are. Plant cairns where value was. The accounting matters for the totality.

The Problem Nobody Solved

Crypto solved trustless transactions. It did not solve trustless identity.

Your phone number is public because every service needs it to "verify" you. Your SSN leaks through credit checks. Your home address is in property records. Your bank account numbers travel through ACH in plaintext. Every "verification" is an exposure. Every exposure is an attack surface.

Robocallers don't need to hack you. You already gave them everything.

The ZK Solution

A zero-knowledge proof lets you prove a fact without revealing the data.

Old way: Give your number to every service. They leak it. Robocallers buy it.

ZK way: hash(phone + salt) ? on-chain attestation. Callers must prove valid reason before the call connects. No proof = no ring.

Old way: Recite 9 digits to every landlord, employer, and credit check.

ZK way: Prove "my SSN is in the valid set" without revealing which one. Credit bureaus verify the proof, not the number.

Old way: Deed recorded in public county records with your name and address.

ZK way: hash(deed + owner) ? prove ownership without revealing location. You prove you own property. Nobody learns where.

Old way: ACH routing + account numbers sent in cleartext for every direct deposit.

ZK way: Prove "I control this account" to a payer without exposing the numbers. Wire fraud becomes impossible.

The Three Layers

Gold � Private (never exposed)

SSN. Home address. Bank accounts. Wallet seed phrases. Medical records. The data that, if leaked, causes real harm. Gold stays inside the membrane. ZK proofs represent it without revealing it.

Silver � Selective (revealed with purpose)

Legal name. Education. Employment history. Military service. Professional credentials. Silver is revealed when the context warrants it � job applications, legal proceedings, professional introductions. The ZK proof gates who gets to see it.

Copper � Public (the face)

Pseudonym. Public projects. Open-source code. Community presence. The copper face is what the world interacts with. It's loud on purpose. Copper shines so gold stays quiet. This is not hiding � it's architecture.

The Cairn Principle

James Howells' 7,500 Bitcoin sit in a Welsh landfill. If he had planted a cairn � a ZK proof of the private key, anchored to another chain � he could prove ownership without the hard drive. The proof outlives the medium.

The grandma-safe sort applies to every crypto interaction:

  • ETH ? grandma-safe if the wallet has guardrails. ZK proof of "this is a valid recipient" before any send. Chipmunk watches the transaction queue.
  • BTC ? grandma-safe if the seed is ZK-proven. Multi-sig with a trusted family member. Time-locked transactions that can be reversed within 24 hours.
  • DOGE ? grandma-safe if the community adopts the sort. The meme IS the membrane. Shiba IS the chipmunk. Much proof. Very safe. Wow.

The TALOS principle: every test has a solution. Every puzzle can be solved without breaking the rules. If the system requires breaking safety to function, the system is wrong � not the user.
